ERROR: "Invalid PLATO Name or "Invalid password"; you can't log in; how to get lost/forgotten account name, user name, or password

Resolution

If you need to validate your login name or password:

Students: First make sure you are at the correct URL (http://asalgebra.platoweb.com).

Contact your instructor to verify your login information and reset or clear your password if necessary. If your user ID does not exist, one will need to be created for you.  Your instructor or administrator will be able to assist you.  For security reasons, PLATO Support does not reset student passwords.

Note:  If your site uses self-enrollment, your instructor or administrator can provide you with a self-enroll login and password that you will use to create your own individual login and password.  You should not need to use the self-enroll name and password again after you have created your own name and password.  For more information about how to self-enroll into AS Algebra, refer to this article.

Instructors: The student may been given two different login names with different assignments, possibly unintentionally.  One of them may have an assignment and the other, none, or they may have two different assignments.

If you are unable to log in, contact your Account Administrator to verify your login information and reset or clear your password if necessary.

Include all of the login field values that you are using: account ID, account name, PLATO name, group name, password. The particular fields you are using depends on which PLATO product you are using.
