Search Tips

Here are some guidelines for searching the knowledge base:

• Use 2 - 4 keywords that are likely to be found in the Article
• The search words you enter are not case sensitive
• Common words such as a, an, and, the, or, is, and not are ignored
• The search engine does not use logical operators (AND, OR, NOT), wildcards (*), or quote marks to indicate specific phrases
• The search engine recognizes various forms of a word as the same. For example, searching on "signing on" will also find Articles with the words "sign on" in them. Searching on "install" will also find Articles containing "installation" and "installing".
• The search engine relies on the key words you enter; if your key words are not specific enough, you'll get too many hits. Try searching on more key words or more specific key words if you get too many hits.
• To search for error messages, search on part of the exact message or a phrase or number from the message. Here are some examples:
