Learning path installation hangs up on "Assigning IDs to activities"

Issue You try to install a package file containing a custom alignment or one or more custom learning paths, but the installation appears to hang up at the message "Assigning IDs to activities." You have to End Task to exit.
Cause Installation cannot determine whether new or existing activity ID is needed
Resolution Send PKG and DB\ACTIVITY folder to PLATO Support

Cause

Resolution

Since the cause is unknown, there is no certain solution. One workaround is to:

  1. Zip up the entire contents of the \PWAY\DB\ACTIVITY folder.

  2. Contact PLATO Support and arrange to e-mail the folder contents to an analyst.

  3. If the PLATO Support analyst is able to resolve the problem, the analyst will send back to you all of the files in DB\ACTIVITY that were changed as a result of the installation.

  4. Copy the changed files to the DB\ACTIVITY folder on your system, overwriting the existing files.

  5. Check System Management > Courseware and Learning Resource Management to verify that the new learning path is now installed correctly.
