ERROR: "Too many users"

Details

Resolution

1. Make sure no other users are running Reading Horizons.
   
   
2. Enter the Administration system.
   
   
3. Enter your password when prompted, then click the Exit button.
   
   
4. Click the Optimize Database button. This will create a backup copy of your database and reset the system.
   
5. Make sure students can now log in successfully. If the problem still occurs, follow the steps below to manually reset the system.

Follow these steps at a workstation having the problem:

1. Use My Computer to open the drive Reading Horizons is installed on.
   
   
2. Open the HECWINHD folder, and then open the DATA folder.
   
   
3. Double-click the RESETHEC.EXE file. You will be prompted to enter your password.
   
   
4. Enter your password, and then click OK. (Use hec as the password when there are no users in Reading Horizons). The following message should display:
   
   "HEC System has been reset successfully."
