How to transfer Focus data from one server to another

Issue You are replacing your Focus server with another server. You want to transfer the students and performance data over to the new server from the old server.
Resolution Copy MySql folder to new server

Resolution

To transfer Focus data from one server to another:

  1. At the server, log on with administrative rights.
  2. Go into Administrator Tools > Services
  3. Right click MySql and select Stop.
  4. Do the same on the new server.
  5. Copy the MySql folder from the old server and replace the folder on the new server.
  6. At both servers start the MySql service again.
  7. Edit FOCUSSETTINGS.TXT in the C:\Program Files\PLATO\Focus Reading\ folder to reflect any changes in the location of the new server or database.
