Resolution Give users read write access to Windows folder

Details

Resolution

WINDOWS 2000/XP PROFESSIONAL

Give users read-write access rights or permissions to the \WINNT folder.

NOTE: If you upgrade from Windows 98 Second Edition to Windows 2000 Professional, the folder may still be named \WINDOWS.

Also, if you do not want to assign rights or permissions to the entire C:\WINNT\ folder, you can create three new subfolders in the \WINNT folder. Give the new folders the following names:

A3W_DATA (CyberEd Biology and Chemistry, versions 4.0 and 4.1 only)
A4W_DATA (CyberEd Biology and Chemistry, versions 4.0 and 4.1 only)
APW_DATA (CyberEd Biology and Chemistry, versions 4.0 and 4.1 only)
A5W_DATA (CyberEd Biology and Chemistry, version 4.2)

Assign read-write access rights or permissions to these three folders, and Biology and Chemistry Series should run properly.

WINDOWS 98 SECOND EDITION

Give users read-write access rights or permissions to the \WINDOWS folder
