Resolution

Before you install WorldView

Before you install WorldView, make sure you do the following:

  • Temporarily disable antivirus and security software.
  • Close all open programs. (Check your Windows toolbar to see if any programs are running. Shut down the Microsoft Office toolbar if your workstation has one. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL to view a list or programs that are currently running, and close any programs that Windows does not require for its operation.)
  • If you're installing WorldView from a Windows 2000/XP workstation on a network, make sure you log on to the network as an administrator, and log on to the workstation with administrator rights.

Remove read-only attributes

DOS METHOD:

Following these steps requires knowledge of basic MS-DOS navigation and commands.

  1. Go to the MS-DOS command interpreter.

Windows 98 SE: Click Start > Programs > MS-DOS Prompt.
Windows ME//2000/XP: Click Start > Run > enter cmd in the "Run" box > click OK.

  2. Navigate to the \PWAY\CW\WVU (or WVU2) directory.
  3. At the \PWAY\CW\WVU (or WVU2)> prompt, enter the following command to remove the read-only attributes on all WorldView files and folders:
    ATTRIB *.* /s -r
  4. Exit MS-DOS.
