ERROR: "Admin Alert: Audit log directory should be archived Admin Alert: error logs should be reviewed"

Issue The following messages display at the bottom of the login screen: ADMIN ALERT: AUDIT LOG DIRECTORY SHOULD BE ARCHIVED ADMIN ALERT: ERROR LOGS SHOULD BE REVIEWED.
Resolution Clear the logalert file and reconfigure the utilities that create the logs (for system admin)

Resolution

System administrator:   Clear the log alert file and reconfigure the utilities that create the logs:

 

There are log files used for troubleshooting or tracking the activity of the account by PLATO Support Services. The Admin Alerts are configured to appear when a log file has reached 8 KB in size. The Alerts generally do not indicate an actual problem, and are written to the LOGALERT.TXT file.  


CLEAR THE LOGALERT FILE:

  1. Navigate to D:\PATHWAYS\LOGS (drive letter may vary).
  2. Find and open LOGALERT.TXT.
  3. Delete all the text from the file, and then save and close the file.
  4. Set the file attribute to read-only.

RECONFIGURE THE UTILITIES THAT CREATE THE LOGS:

 

Follow the steps below to reconfigure the PWLNDISKLOG.EXE utility

  1. On the web server, navigate to D:\PATHWAYS\SYSTEM (drive letter may vary).
  2. Find PWLNDISKLOG.EXE and run it. When the wizard displays, click Configure.
  3. Configure the utility to match the settings shown below:


  4. Click OK/Yes through the rest of the prompts, and then click Exit.

Follow the steps below to reconfigure the PWLNCLEAN.EXE utility

  1. On the web server, navigate to D:\PATHWAYS\SYSTEM (drive letter may vary).
  2. Find PWLNCLEAN.EXE and run it. When the wizard displays, click Configure.
  3. Configure the utility to match the settings shown below:


  4. Click OK/Yes through the rest of the prompts, and then click Exit.
